Laptops are cheaper, have shorter life expectancy ( smaller space - capacitors fail due to overheating ) and can't be hardware-upgraded, but importantly are portable. In an ideal world a desktop remains king, laptops being 'second computers', but in rip-off Britain branded finished desktops now cost a bomb. The solution : Build your own desktop, then also get a laptop off the shelf.You’re almost there
