'...a week off to support their wellbeing and mental health [...] in order to give employees a break after a difficult [pandemic] year.' How is this '[m]ore [w]oke [n]onsense,' and what does that even mean? Is Darkness into Light also woke nonsense? The issue isn't that people are being granted a week to recharge whether it's physically, mentally or both, it's that the PR "generosity" is in a country, the US, that has generally pathetic annual PTO for workers in the first place. Plus, it is only being extended to the HQ desk jockeys in Oregon who were quite likely working from home anyway, and not the outsourced and likely low waged and overworked people who make the overpriced footwear / gear in places like Vietnam, nor the probably minimum waged people selling the products at Nike stores across the US; people who would likely get less PTO than the HQ people as is.
