What commercials can you think of that have made otherwise unknown songs or groups popular?

The one that pops into my mind is the Heineken commercial that introduced most of us to the Danish group, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour. Another really famous was the Swatch Commercial with, "Breathe" by Midge Ure. Whatever happened to him?

It doesn't seem to me that many unknown groups could write a song that would be strong enough to grab people's attention yet also good enough to make them known for their other material. Usually it seems to be a song that's already well known, or one written especially to sell the product.

Dont know any commercial songs that later became well known.
There is a famous world war 1 song called OVER THERE written by George M. Cohan it is now very unpopular as the tune to the GO COMPARE advert.I'm giving away my age now.
