If you can get a hot drink with honey and ribena I find is best. Also try steaming - get yoru head over a bowl of hot water with maybe some vicks or similar in it - to open up the lungs

I have had that ever since I had a cold about a month ago. I am blaming it on allergies and don't think anything helps. I keep water handy and a drink eases it a bit.

If the tickly is being caused by leftover phlem from a cold or something, and is catching in your throat causing the coughing try this. Get a smallish amount of dried sage, pop it in on of those tea infuser balls or spoons, and pop it in a cup of hot (not boiling) water. Leave to brew and then drink it down! If you don't have one of those infusers you can always just put it in the cup loose and then strain it before drinking. Evidently the sage infusion breaks down the leftover phlem and therefore stops the coughing.
Other remedies for coughs and colds, like mentioned, honey and lemon, and also Apple Cider Vinegar and honey is good for keeping colds at bay. Apparently, your PH levels in your body change when you get a cold, and this helps get the balance back again.
Might be a bit late to try it now, what with you heading off on your hols tomorrow, but might be worth a try some other time! Other than that stock up on lots of throat or boiled sweets to suck on the flight to help ease the coughing. Hope you have a great holiday!

Have you tried honey? Mix a spoonful of honey in your tea or coffee or make some hot lemon and put it in that, it might help.
