PAYPAL SCAM WARNING.
Have you received an email from paypal stating it has deducted money from your account for something you do not recognise?

I received an email this morning that looked like it came from Paypal stating it was a receipt for £33 paid to skpe.
I do not use Skpe or had not made any recent Paypal payments either.
I checked my Paypal account and guess what there was no such transaction.

Then it has this at the bottom of the email .......

Issues with this transaction?
If you haven't authorized this charge, open a dispute at:

https://www.paypal.co.uk/helpcenter/open_dispute and get a full refund.

THIS IS A SCAM .....They hope you will sign in to your Papal account via the link and then they can access your Paypal account.

Please be careful If you receive similar emails, always open another window and check your account.

Oh my gosh this is rather worrying, and I wonder how many people they have scammed. I will definitely keep my eye open for this one, and thank you for alerting us to it.

I have taken to ignoring emails like that and certainly you did the right thing checking it out first. I keep geting them from Lloyds asking me to verify passwords but as I do not have an account with Lloyds I just delete them. There are so many scams out there trying to get money out of us without earning it the hard way. It might be despicable but you have to admire the cleverness of these scammers in coming up with these ideas to extort money from us.

there are many emails like this, saying your account is frozen or need to update your details, they are all scam but surely your computer should pick that up and put them into your junk, mine does. it isn't paypals fault, it is the idiots out there that want to get money from our paypal account.

Hi a gain, yes I have got several of these scam e mails which had made me rather suspoisous as you do not pay for skype - its a free thing and my pay pal account is registered with a diferent e -mail account (I have two - one for personal e mail and an other for surveys etc). I have wondered how Pay pal knew what e mail account i have be cause i am getting these messages in the email account i do not use fro pay pal etc (for surveys and e bay stuff etc) - so thanks for that and it def does show that you def need to be extra viligant on these things.
