1 month agoSome States and Territories are now moving on and about to do the same with other illegal substances, under a certain amount it is not a criminal offense.
Australia has also lost the war on illegal substances years ago, and it is time that the Australian Government takes some more action, by decriminalizing many of these substances, we should have official laborites making these drugs and substances, so the quality and safety is controlled, and so is the price. This to me is a much safer option that what we have right now, and a few king pings are the ones importing the drugs and move it onto other drug dealers and on and on to other drug dealers, who all break the drugs down with other substances that are more dangerous than the actual drugs themselves.
By doing this does not mean that you will have a run on people wanting to use drugs, it may actually stop many, who love doing tings that are illegal, it will get rid of the king pings as the product that was once worth millions would be lucky the even be worth $25 Reply

1 month agoThe National Institute on Drug Abuse says marijuana can be addictive and is considered a “gateway drug” to using other drugs. "The higher the level of THC and the more often you use, the more likely you are to become dependent," Bonn-Miller says. "You have difficulty stopping if you need to stop. You have cravings during periods when you're not using. And you need more and more of it to have the same effect." Marcel Bonn-Miller, PhD, a substance abuse specialist at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.
Of course smoking it also has undesirable effects similar to those from smoking cigarettes - irritated lungs and reduced lung capacity and harmful effects on the lungs.
It can also effect judgement and co ordination which is obviously a problem for driving and using machinery = likewise there are warnings on some S4 and S8 drugs pointing this out there is a hazard when taking these medications and driving or using machinery.
Simply saying just legalise it - there is much more involved when this is done - taking into consideration the above, not to mention that if is sold outside of pharmacies supplying it by prescription - many people would obtain this drug by illegal means - not knowing what the product actually is or the correct dosage.
It is a good drug of choice for certain medical conditions and can be helpful but I think just legalising it for recreational purposes is not such a good thing - where are the benefits of this? I have personal experience of people using this and never growing up and worse still they are living in a fantasy world where nothing is their fault, and they are not able to see their lives unravelling -some in their 50's and 60's still smoking it and whose lives have been ruined by smoking this substance. Some of them have even said they do not want to stop smoking it as they don't want to face reality - the mess in their lives - they are unable to deal with and prefer to stay stoned, not thinking about it.
I have to disagree about legalising it - it is not just some harmless weed. It is indeed a very powerful substance capable of altering a persons perception and reality. Reply
