Personal info survey

Good morning all. Yesterday I was offered a survey for 12.000 points lasting 60 min in total. It said it was in different parts and you could choose which part you wanted to do when but the entire thing needed to be done in one sitten i.e. 60 min at least. I thought fine, why not. In the beginning it asked to collect personal data and if willing click ok. I clicked ok thinking it would be the usual, gender, age, occupation, income etc but no. On the next page it asked for me full name, full address, email address and mobile number. I don't think so. I was sad, because I did want the 12.000 points but I thought to myself: is 12.000 points worth it giving this info to total strangers not knowing what they will do with it? They can state they won't do anything with it but why would I trust someone on the other side of the internet? I don't know who is looking at it. I closed the survey because I'm quite paranoid when it comes to online hacking and phishing and scamming. Did you do this survey? Did you provide these details?

I prefer 4 x 3,000 surveys rather than one for 12,000 so wouldn't do it. Reply

The organisation doing it are one I recognised plus Toluna would have vetted it so I was happy to give it a go. However, it complained about my post code not being a residential one (which it is) so I had to quit it. Reply

I've done it in the past Hilde , it's the equivalent of doing 4 x 3000 points surveys . I'm not precious enough to think that my personal details could be used for anything significant , and I'm sure they're already out there anyway . Reply

You are not paranoid in my view. I would never give my address to other websites. Simply is not worth the headache you might get later on. Reply

I got the email but was busy in the morning. In the evening when I had time I clicked on the link and it took me to a ‘normal’ survey for normal points that lasted 15 minutes.
I guess the long one was already full.

I just decided not to do it when I saw it would be 60 minutes! I'm not wasting an hour of my time for that! Reply

I didn't get the offer but unless something is being delivered they get someone else's address.
Keeping several different email addresses means that I know who is causing spam & I have been known to accidentally give an incorrect telephone number.
