Good morning lovely Toluna members If you have a garden whats your favourite plant to have in it?
Closed

When the sun is out i love nothing more than to tinker around in my garden or to sit on my hammock watching the birds and bees
I'm a huge HUGE fan of lillies (although this year my prized lillies are not coming along well at all sadly)
I have pots of them. My husband is not a fan because he doesn't really like the smell of them
My mum also was not a fan because she said they are for funerals although I always thought that was white ones
I do have a white lilly that I love
Do you have a favourite plant or shrub in your garden?

I have two daughters. When they were both old enough they wanted a tattoo.Rather than them just going and doing it anyway, and having something awful,I came to a compromise.I chose for them to have a Lily each. One daughter has a Lily on her arm,and one daughter has a Lily on her foot.It connects them as sisters, and I think Lilies are posh looking.
However my favourite flower in the garden is azalea.I have them near my back door.I know they flower once a year, but wow when they do the deep pink colours I have are wow wow wow. They were my granny's favourite so it reminds me of her,and makes me smile.

Morning Sue, I like Petunia, she's a very nice girl and very willing.
Sorry , my mind wandered there, petunias are my favourite flowers, I've got trailing ones in hanging baskets and bedding ones in borders. :-) xx

Oh I have a few, philadelphus which smells heavenly, Skimmia Japonica which also smells heavenly and flowers really early in the year so is an essential bee plant and salvia 'hotlips' which the bees also love and it flowers from early summer to late autumn.

Watching the birds and the bees? How rude! Garden voyeurism! ;-)
.
Good to hear from you again. I hope you and your family are all well. :-)
.
My Dad was a rose fan, as was his Mum. I used to be sent out after the rag and bone man had passed to see if the horse had left any manure for the roses! Age of eight in the middle of the road with a big metal bucket and an old coal shovel! :-)
My Mum used to love Lily Of The Valley, but my Dad considered them a weed as they self propagate at a rapid rate like Spanish Bluebells.
I like wild flowers, especially poppies.

I don't have a garden Sue but when I did I loved nasturtiums. The colours were so brilliant and summery and the leaves could be eaten in salads, they have a mild peppery taste. I also had night scented stock, not much to look at but the scent was amazing.
