Voter Suppression Needs To Stop!

When I was homeless, I had no right to vote because I couldn't provide an address of residence.
Prisoners can't vote.
Some crime convictions prevent people from voting even at the local level . . . . . FOR LIFE.
No one should be prevented from voting. NO ONE.
There is no reason ever that anyone should not have a voice in their government.
And the biggest changes happen at the local levels:
school boards, city council, mayorship . . . .
but people who have lost the right to vote can't have a say in how their taxes should be spent, and on who.
This is Democracy lost. A country who prevents people from voting isn't a democracy.
I don't want to hear Mr. Ritchie McWhitenson's ideas on who he thinks will best help him stay comfortable . . . . and get more comfortable.
I want to hear from Poori McTransient on who she thinks will help her get a slice of that pie the McWhitenson's have.

Again, the biggest changes happen at the local level. But local elections have a much smaller turnout than the presidential elections.

So make sure to get out and vote. Voter suppression happens. It's been the legacy of the U.S. to not allow disadvantaged people to vote (when this country was first founded, only landowning white, unindentured males could vote. Women didn't get the right to vote until 1920, and even then it was only the white women who were allowed at the poles without hassle).

The sad thing…those eligible to vote, don’t even bother. But they’re quick to complain. Reply
