Bar shampoo review
Closed

One of the presents I bought for myself was a bar of shampoo. No plastic just a bar of soap shaped shampoo. I said, you may remember, that I would let you know how I am getting on.
Initially when I used it, I tried to lather the soap up in my hands and then apply it to my hair but that failed to produce much lather to then massage into my hair. I then tried rubbing the bar directly onto my hair and this was massively more effective and lathered up really quickly and effectively. It is cleaning my hair as well as the shampoo I was using before and is not as messy as u thought it might be
All in all, a little more expensive then my normal shampoo but I think it will last a long time. I see it as another small step I will make towards choosing a more eco friendly alternative.

If they did my prescription shampoo in a bar I would take it. However at the moment I can’t even get it in a bottle - yet another glitch in the production. Last time this happened I was 18 months without shampoo. I have a skin condition.

We have an organic scoop shop not far away i bought my daughter some of this shamppoo soap and conditioner she said it really good. She has been having alergic reactions to shampoo so we will see if this helps

I have been tempted to try this ,but i have really weird hair ,i need to try to find a bar that adds volume and is good for greasy hair as of yet i have not seen any in the shops ,maybe shampoo companys should think of selling refills for their bottles ,which would be much more eco friendly and it would be nice to have a classy looking bottle on the shelf instead of all the plastic bottles

If it saves on plastic it's got to be a good thing E.

I use a shampoo bar too, I prefer it to liquid shampoo.

I have used this and I agree - it lathers better if you just rub it onto your hair - another small step towards getting rid of plastic

I'm not really a fan, I prefer a bottle as it's not so messy! Same with hand soap, although I did receive a bar of both for Christmas. Probably destined for the charity bag I'm afraid. Not that I'm not grateful so please don't judge me on it lol !!
