Posh Shops

The closest i ever came to shopping in a posh shop is going to the loo in John Lewis in Cambridge lol. I know i can't pay organic or premium prices and I dont have the cheek to go in an browse in posh shops when i know i'll end`up buying in OFS or Peacocks!
A really posh shop has just opened in my town called 'Crane and Kind' and i just clicked on the ad -apparently they just got into the top best shops in the UK (Observer magazine). Flicking through the website I saw gorgeous fabrics and new designs, organic and eco friendly and prices to make Harrods blush. The shop is mainly babywear with sidelines of gifts and adult clothing. The shopfront is painted candyfloss pink and almost everything in the shop looks like the sprinkles on a cupcake.
I just wish I was rich. I havent been in any of the posh shops in our High St. What is the poshest shop you have ever visitid and bought something?

I've been in a couple of higher-end hand-crafted ornament style shops, but only to buy gifts for other people as they are expensive. I also shopped in an organic veg market stall once, not realising how expensive it was until the shopkeeper told me that my single pear was £1 and my cauliflower was £3! By then, they were already bagged up so I couldn't change my mind! Reply

The trouble with you is you're picky - see, you can afford organic, but you don't know what's good for you... Take a pheasant, by weight it's probably the cheapest meat, essentially organic, free range, whatever, and that because people pay daft money to shoot at them, or at least that's one good reason apart from others getting squashed. How many Harrods bags does one need ? ..Paper or plastic ? ;)). Reply

John Lewis is not "posh" Yvonne. Fortum and Mason is as is Liberty's. Selfridges and Harvey Nicks sort of are and Harrods used to be. Reply

John Lewis 'Posh'? It's the new Woolworths. I used to go shopping in the King's road in Chelsea and Knightsbridge when I lived in London in the 80s, that was posh. I must admit I didn't buy much but it was fun going into the shops when I was in my punk/psychobilly phase, the store detectives used to follow me everywhere.;-) Reply

EWM is clothing shop which presents as posh with nice little tartan shortbreads at the till, swanky lined boxes for simple gifts like keyrings and real wool bedsocks in pretty boxes but it isnt posh in the expensive sense. Reply
