Well, before this kills you, I'd just like to say it's been a really amusing several years or so Steve, and despite our ups and downs, the differences really do pale to insignificance. So to keep it short, if you could just box up the telescope ready for collection tomorrow afternoon by the UPS courier guy I've arranged for pick-up, and leave it outside the side door with a note _before_you_test_the_cake_ please that'll be great. Thanks !!! Reply

I don't have any recipes Spartan but I do love Hellman's Mayonnaise. As a teenager I used to eat it straight from the jar with a spoon. Reply

Personally I would stick to the tried and tested (and very versatile) egg mayonnaise but OK if you want unusual.....
2 cups Flour
1 cup Sugar
2 teaspoons Baking Soda
4 tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa
¼ teaspoon Salt
1 cup Water
1 cup Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Vanilla
Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl.
Add the water and beat 1 minute. Add the mayonnaise and beat 1 minute. Add the vanilla and beat 1 minute.
Pour into a greased and floured pan, 13 x 9 inch square for a very high cake.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

Not really a recipe Steve, but sometimes my wife suggests just buttering one side of the bread for a sandwich, and using mayonnaise on the other piece of bread (with sandwich contents between the two slices, of course). Reply
