Electric Vehicles

I heard on Eyewitness News at 6 p.m. this evening that Hertz is ordering 100,000 electric vehicles from Tesla. This is a positive step in reducing emissions. Would you rent an electric vehicle?

No because if I rented one it would be for a long distance trip and I wouldn't want the hassle of trying to find a recharge station. Plus, I read somewhere that is can take about 30 minutes to refill one. Maybe once they improve on them, I would in the future. Reply

I will rent the vehicle that is best for me to get around in. I have no preference based on emissions. Convenience and cost is king. Reply

At this point in time I wouldn't rent an electric vehicle because I live in a small town and we have no charging stations, our only rental car place probably won't carry electric cars and I wouldn't rent one to drive anywhere out of town because it might be a problem finding a charging station if you were not in a big city. No because I don't know enough about them at this point in time. Reply

No, they take too long to recharge, can't travel very far and would likely cost more to rent. It's possible that owning one would save money in the long run due to tax credits and not needing to purchase gas. Reply

Just recently purchased one so no need for me to rent. But renting gives a great opportunity to try one out without having to go to the expense or entanglement of a lease arrangement. EVs are a whole different mindset for driving but once I became accustomed to it, couldn't be happier with my choice. Reply
