Covid Booster clinics starting here, for the vulnerable group first, on Nov. 1st….but…

It has come to light that there have been 2 walk in Booster clinics held in the local community centre already. Not advertised. No invitations sent. Word of mouth only and available to anyone that knew about them and walked in!

The ‘Hub’ that is supposedly organising clinics for our health board deny knowledge of these clinics. Neil was in the local health centre getting his flu jag while the latter of these Covid Booster clinics took place a mile up the road. He asked about his Covid booster and was told to wait for his letter. No mention of walk in clinics taking place.

If there was a brain cell in charge they could have done flu and COVID to the same people and got more done, in a joint clinic. My eldest stepson works in healthcare and he had both together, so there is no reason why not to.

A lot of people are raging, and one former NHS worker has put in a formal complaint.

Seems like gross incompetence to me, but good on those who went along. I just wish they had shared it on the day. I wonder if the clinic was at capacity or if there were wasted opportunities. I wonder who on earth organised or authorised it.

On a more positive note, at least I have an appointment for my flu jag on Thursday, after missing out last year.

It's the same here you just walk in to have the booster, we looked it up and as long as you had the last one 6 months ago you can have it Reply

Compared with the first roll out of vaccines the booster rollout seems much less organised. My mother who is 83 has just booked her own as she had no call to get it even though she is eligible. I think alot of people who are eligible are waiting for an invitation that is not coming. Reply

I thought Nicola prided herself on handling things so much better than the rest oif the UK? There are several walk-in and pop-up sessions in Shropdhire, all widely advertised locally, and specifying whether for 1st,2nd,3rd, boosters or all. Reply

Another example of the stream of mistakes surrounding the handling of Covid Reply
