Further to Spartans’s post yesterday…

I got my Tesco delivery this afternoon, and the delivery girl was exceptional. She explained that because of the problems over the previous 48 hours we could reject anything in the delivery without question.
But I decided to keep it all.

So items I’d ordered that would have cancelled if I could included
2 apple turnovers
A battenburg cake
4 bottles of red wine
A single Orange
A single lemon
A packet of fig rolls
A 1 kg tub of natural yogurt.

But none of it will be wasted. Indeed we have just enjoyed the Apple turnovers with Neil commenting that they are not my usual shopping!

My priorities, which I did get are sugar for my jam making and food for Bonnie.

I’ve now rejigged my meal planner for the rest of the week, and until my next delivery booked for another 2 weeks hence.
In fact because of Mr M’s fall last night I never cooked what I’d planned last night anyway and we ended up just heating a frozen pizza. I did the chicken meal tonight instead.
So I’m not complaining. The delivery was cheaper than it would have been had it included a single piece of meat. It has made for interesting times.

The web situation with Tesco was a blow to many but the company has always seemed to be very good at taking the best decisions in all these matters. We regularly get items that have been substituted and frequently send them back with no questions asked, a wonderful delivery service that the others would do well to emulate. Reply

A single orange? Who buys a single orange? A lemon I can understand but just one orange? I had an ASDA delivery the other day and all my items were available and it was a big order too. Reply
