World Teachers Day!

This World Teachers Day on Tuesday October 5 I would like to take a moment to thank all the amazing teaching staff that encourage, inspire and brighten the lives of children, our younger generation and people studying further education. In our schools there are so many wonderful staff in teaching roles that contribute to a child's education with Volunteers, Chappy's, Teachers and Teacher Aides just to name a few. So are there any special and memorable moments when you were growing up and throughout your childhood where someone made a difference in your life?

Agree, well said. I always regret not telling my fave teacher what he did for me and how much he meant to me. Sadly he passed away ten years after I finished high school so I can't ever track him down and thank him. He was 42 years old, married about 10 years with two small children who are now adults. Always tell teachers and anyone how great you think they are. EVERYone deserves to know. Thank you teachers for all you do for your students no matter what era it is. Reply

Teaching is just like any other profession. Some are better suited to it and do it better than others. Reply

Teachers....there are those who are natural and there are those who should not be in the classroom. Primary school was all good, high school I had the best English teacher, boy did he have the "know how" thus with a little help from myself received good results. Maths is another storey, poor guy could not control the class clowns/nuisances so some of us did suffer with the lack of Maths skills even with more study at home :( All the other subjects got me through just fine. I must admit in the end I was bored with school and needed more challenges like Tafe and work, I achieved my goals and thankful for it. My niece is a Primary School teacher, she has the knack and still enjoys it, well most days lol :) Reply

What a wonderful day for you Ms KT. You are an inspiration, imo, for all teachers. Cannot write for long as I cannot really see. My English lit teacher Mr Tassiker, RIP, many years ago gave to me the ability to have belief in myself which continued through my life and I am so very grateful to him. He may not have ever been recognized, I do not know, but I am one person that does. .... You will have heaps in your life that recognize you. Reply

I was always grateful to my English and Geography teacher in matric (Year 12) after finding them ( they'd both called in sick) 'canoodling' on the beach together when I used to wag school. I didn't tell anyone but Blackmail got me excellent grades.
However I wasn't so grateful to my Grade three teacher who used to make me borrow the sticky tape from the class next door for talking in class. She'd tape my mouth together then making me return the sticky tape.
I would like to be a kid in your class Miss KT......... I'd relish in giving you HELL!!!! ;-)
