Bonnie has burst her collar!

She is doing so very well in her recovery from her operation. But this morning when we got up she had the limp collar round her neck. To be honest I was amazed that she hadn’t killed it before now or got rid of it completely.
Neil repaired it with a puncture repair kit but tonight it is again deflated so we have now left it off.
We have been trying so hard to restrict her activity, but she doesn’t see that. She is obviously missing her walks and the running and jumping she is so familiar with. She is not meant to even climb up onto the furniture yet, but does. So much for keeping her on the lead in the garden - she still leaps up the three steps to get indoors!
I must say I am pleased that the op has had little effect on her . Next Monday she gets her stitches out and after that we can return to normal activities.

Bonnie must be feeling better and wanting to get back to normal, it can not be nice for her being restricted by the collar. Reply

oh my, the one we had for our dog was heavy duty canvas on the outside, don't think it could have been deflated.. Your Bonnie is on the mend, she'll be fine. Reply

You can't explain to a per why they need to have their normal behaviour is not appropriate. But I bet you are pleased that Bonnie has recovered enough to ignore instructions not to jump about. Reply

Glad she's doing so well Brucie, she's a very impatient patient it seems. :-) xx Reply

I had a similar problem with Honey (Cocker Spaniel) when she was 'filleted' ~ she went mental and ripped off the collar ! Reply
