Customer returns!

Have you ever worn something and then taken it back for a refund? When I worked in retail this was commonplace especially around the Christmas/party season (ie why pay for something you are only going to wear once) I was once called to deal with a customer who was returning an evening dress (£120) which stank of beer/chip fat/cigarettes/perfume, had huge sweat stains under the arms, singe marks and a few dubious looking stains. I explained to her that we could not take it back as we would be unable to re sell it in that condition. Her reply was "It was like that when i bought it" at which point I told her to leave the store and take her dress with her.

No, though it might save the hassle of reselling on eBay I'll guess for those with the gall and short of resources for shipping. Reply

I have not,but like you in retail many years ago, many of our privileged account customers would have items on appro.
Clearly they had not simply tried them on but worn many times and as you said grubby and sweat stained, vile and usually arrogant people.

No! I hate having to return anything - even when it’s faulty and all I’ve done is opened the packaging..
I would not dream of returning something after wearing it.

It’s a form of fraud and sadly it’s now so common, there’s a name for it - ‘wardrobing’ ! Reply
