Broom broom!

Hello, I feel like I haven't written a topic for ages but I've been busy with working, doing online courses and practising driving.

Today, I took my practical driving test after over a year of waiting thanks to COVID. Good news is that I passed so that's a relief!

It was raining but that worked in my favour as there were fewer cars on the road. In the end, I wasn't that nervous, since my examiner was really nice (in fact, my dad, who was waiting at the test centre for 40 minutes, was probably more nervous than me!).

I got 4 minor faults, 3 on steering and one for readjusting myself on a reverse park. Considering that you need 15 minor faults for a fail, I was pleased with my performance.

Now, I'll drive into work tomorrow. It's only a short trip so it's a good way to ease myself into driving by myself.

If you drive, when did you pass and did you pass first time?

Well done!
I passed on my third attempt. On the first I simply wasn’t ready and had been rushed into it. On the second the car I was familiar with developed a fault in my pre-test lesson, so I was suddenly in a car I didn’t know and that threw me into a panic before I even started..
Third time lucky. Better knowledge and experience, right car, calmer me!!
That was back in 1986. One year after I got married. Passing my test meant I no longer had to cycle to and from work every day. But I had to save up and by a car (a banger) first lol!

I passed my driving test on the 7th attempt. I took my first test at 17 and did not pass until I was 19 and had a driving lesson most weeks for 2 years! My twin brother passed on his first attempt. Reply

Well done that person, I have never passed a driving test first time, all three were on the second attempt. Remember, you have proved you can pass the test, now you learn to drive. Reply
