Are you happy to use online banking ?
Closed

I have to say, I'm fine with it . I've used it for just under 9 years , without a problem . The security of my account is quite reassuring . To access my accounts , there's a 3 stage log - in . Firstly, I need to enter my preliminary login , which is kept only in my head . Then comes my interstitial login , which is different every time . Of the 9 - part secondary login , I'm asked to drop down 3 random parts , say the 2nd , 5th and 8th . After doing all that , the final layer of security is a 6 digit code , sent by text to my mobile phone, which I then type in . Total time taken , about 3 minutes , which will do for me . Are you fine with online banking , or don't you trust it ?

Good morning Lord Spartan ~ I have a similar log-in routine and it works fine for me !
I've been online banking for many years; not yet had any problems !!
Long may it stay that way !!!

I've used online banking for years and the phone banking apps on my phone are even better and quicker. Money is so virtual these days. It's all just numbers on a screen rather than physical money. But I do like online banking, I've known some people unfortunately have their accounts hacked, but the banks are usually good at reimbursing funds and helping get it rectified.

Yes. I have used online banking for the past few years and am happy with both how easy it is to use and the security measures that are in place. During lockdown my local branch was closed so i used either telephone banking or online m=banking and more recently i have found mobile banking to be great if i need to use that instead of online banking.
Now that my local branch has re opened I still visit the branch when i need to pay in cheques as currently i do not have the facility to do that in my online or mobile banking.

I started to use it as soon as it was made available as I detested lining up in my branch and being restricted by poor opening hours.
My only visit to a branch now is to deposit a cheque if I ever get one.

The one thing I find totally annoying is those codes that are sent to a mobile phone. We hardly ever use our mobile phone, so often need to go upstairs and find it, then switch it on, which takes a very long time, by which time the code has often expired. Mobile banking in itself doesn't seem to provide very many issues, but this mobile part of the log in is a complete disaster.

Yes, I use online banking (we no longer have any banks in our town) - I have a "key" thing I have to put a code into and it generates another code (along with 2 other steps). I would have preferred to go into the bank too, but that went about 2 years ago....we used to have 4 big banks, now none. :-(. xx

I have no issue in principle, but Bipolar and easily 'fiddled with' finances (ie at one's fingertips!) don't necessarily mix... I find it safer, for me personally, to use Phone Banking. Something about having to interact with a voice, whether realtime or automated, somehow inhibits me from moving money/spending money recklessly ;)

Yes indeed Steve. I've been signed up for online banking since the tail end of 2013. Like you my bank has a 3 tier security system. In my case I have to enter 3 random numbers of my pin, which could be in any order. As examples; 1st, 4th & 3rd or 4th, 2nd & 3rd or even 1st, 2nd & 3rd. This is followed by entering three letters or numbers from a 12 digit password. After that I also receive a 6 digit number via my mobile. The latter requirement is a relatively new add-on that's been ongoing for some while now.
