Travel and COVID-19

Currently some travel companies are examining the possibility of carrying out exhaustive examinations in people who wish to travel outside the United Kingdom, in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection. However, many people remain exeptical on the subject. What do you think? Would you travel outside the UK if this is implemented along with other security measures?

I cannot afford to travel so the question doesn't really apply to me, but I do think that the travel from China at the start of the outbreak showed the benefits of checking and also of detailing punishments for non-compliance. Reply

It's hopeless, also National Express ( bus company ) sent me an email linking to a diagram of their enhanced airflow in buses... Fundamentally flawed ( when the vehicle is on the move ) a splutter from anyone aft can infect almost everyone else onboard even though some of the flow is mixed with outside air inbetween front and rear parts of the coach. I think we have to worry more about if we will be allowed in to some countries. I'm waiting to visit my parents in Norway, but I worry about getting back here again when things get worse, which they will. Reply

There is not a snowball in hell's chance of me travelling outside the UK until the virus is eradicated, or there is a working vaccine. Packing people into an aluminium tube where the air is recirculated is asking for trouble. Reply

Sounds sensible to me but why "exhaustive" surely a simple swab test would suffice? Reply
