I've been walking down a canal near me and it's always nice to go there as it's away from the city. One morning I managed to see a few swans and took this photo of a swan and her/his cygnet, as swans don't come out that often and there's usually more ducks. There was hardly anyone around so it was peaceful and I like this photo as there's a nice balance in the composition as both swan and cygnet are looking into the water at the same time but in opposite directions.

We have quite few lakes near us in Surrey. Probably all have swans and they are in abundance.. As are the cygnets. Nearby rivers, which are pretty narrow, have few swans!

What a lovely photo. It reminds us that there is a bird sanctuary a few miles away from us, which also is near a sailing club. Because of the virus lockdown the sailing club had been very quiet with few boats on the water. Sometimes we have a look at the club webcam online. Recently there have not been that many birds at the bird sanctuary, but we have counted as many as 50 swans on the sailing lake ! Wonder what they're going to do when the boats return ? They seem to have made the sailing lake their own !

Great photo. :-)
I don't live near any canals but I once spent a pleasant 15 minutes watching dragonflies when I worked near one. Consider me slightly jealous of you. :-)
