Woodland
Closed

We live in a new development .on the edge of a village. The woodland charity has planted thousands of new trees behind us.its beautiful has lovely walks and many people with lockdown, and the nice weather have enjoyed using it
BUT this week, gangs of young people on scrambling bikes, are having barbecues there, this is very scary, due to the dry weather
It’s so frustrating ,how on earth do you police and protect this lovely countryside ?

They might just be more responsible than you think, unless they are a well known group of arsonists. The best I suggest is that the villagers render a helping hand and make it ha camping fire safe as it can be. This will press loyalty to kindness heavy on their shoulders. Good luck.

It's probably best to notify the Police, as there's a good chance some of them won't have driving licences or insurance. Even if the wood is privately-owned (e.g. by the Woodland Trust) it may be open to the public so the Police can take action.

My husband thinks that IF the land is owned or maintained by the council they will have local bylaws etc in place and if that is the case they will suggest that you call either the local councils "green team" or the police. Good luck.

That's beautiful Cymo, I never understand why some people feel the need to spoil these areas, very sad indeed :(( x

How beautiful! You're very lucky to live near such greenery! Do you like to take walks out there often? :)
