Are kids ready to meet Greg?

SparkShorts is a series of independent American short films produced by the famous Pixar studio. In animations, the creators have space for experimenting and playing with convention. They are not limited by the rigid frames of pixar box office productions, and at the same time they maintain the tradition of the studio, which in the 1980s began its activity just from short forms.

Now on Disney + there is an animation entitled "Out", in which the main character, Greg faces a difficult decision to confess to parents the truth about his sexual orientation.

The short production tells the moving story of Greg, who, with his partner Miguel, prepares to move to a large city and enter adult life. However, before he leaves his homeland, he has to face difficult conversations with his parents. The confidant of his fears and dilemmas is the dog in which the hero finds shelter (literally) when confronted with his mother. He decides to exchange the body with his four-legged friend. What will this unusual situation lead to? Will Greg finally stop hiding his identity?

Until now, Pixar productions only had mentions or small episodes showing the LGBTQ community (e.g. in the fable "Forward"), so "Out" could be a turning point in the history of animated films. The nine-minute film was written and directed by Steven Clay Hunter, who previously dealt with the visual effects of productions such as "WALL-E", "Brave" and "Toy Story 4". Well, after such a debut, we can't wait for more Hunter shorts!

Have you seen it? If yes, what are your thoughts on it?
