An Eurasian eagle owl, set up camp in Jos Baart’s third-storey apartment. She had 3 baby owls and will be there for the next two months. The mother is not that friendly and watches from a distance. The Belgian man is absolutely delighted. He hopes the owls will return again.
The Eurasian Eagle Owl is Europe's largest Owl. The female is larger than the male. They are crepuscular, meaning they are most active at dawn and dusk. Their plumage is brown in colour, heavily streaked with black. They can live up to 21 years in the wild and 60 years in captivity. Their diet consists mainly of mammals, up to the size of adult hares or young deer. They will also take large birds such as buzzards or herons.
