Forget about the hard to get concert or festival tickets !

Here in Kent, the most sought after thing is now a booking to attend the household waste site, to dispose of rubbish. This morning at 11:18 one man complained he was queue number 8,373 to book a slot, and there were 8,002 people ahead of him. I did not expect any problems with going to the amenity site to dispose of items, but it seems this is what has happened. You are not allowed to go to the site without any proof of your booking, forget the proof you get sent home.

Has your council introduced a booking system for people wanting to go to a waste site to dispose of rubbish ?

It took me 4 hours yesterday after 16000 in front of me. It was ok
As just left the page running on my phone and checked every so often. But went on again last night to see the que and it went straight through. So maybe wait till the evening if you don’t want to wait in line

Ours re-opened today. No booking and according to MyLondon "tens of cars were seen queuing to enter the site". The site is a pain as they only accept drivers, so non-drivers have nowhere. It looks like they have reduced what you can take and there are some sensible sounding distancing rules. Reply

I don't think our local one is open yet, although a friend told me that another two are open. I've ordered a green waste bin from the council, though, as green waste in large sacks is starting to take over the garage! Reply

No wonder there is so much fly tipping,I suppose folks have been demolishing walls and gardens otherwise what on earth do you need to dump so urgently? Reply
