For differing reasons , I only managed a day trip to Blackpool last year , not the best place for beach activities and swimming . Looks like I'll miss out completely this year . This thought brought a certain song to mind . I can't help but wistfully watch the video . Do you think you'll get to a beach this year ?

Looking at the state of the world right now, this is the calm before the storm still. I don’t think holiday makers or weekend getaway people will be going anywhere for a long while ... say goodbye to those summer holidays. Toes in the sand moments and embracing the sunny breeze, COVID-19 has stolen 2020 and all our holidays with it. Reply

I walked down to the nearest bay about a month ago, about a 20 minute walk, just for exercise. There was me, a couple walking at the far end of the bay, and a young man and his two very young children on the beach. Very peaceful, and very beautiful. Reply

Maybe; but we live about 18miles from a couple of nice ones, so we might get there if Lockdown is relaxed Reply

Westcliffe or Southend are ~30 miles away so possible by railway, but 20p to publish a photo of a sandcastle on here won't cover the £16 travel... It would need some other excuse too :). Reply
