It’s been a long hard day for you (or the cook in your household). What do you do about dinner when you (or the cook) are exhausted? Do you heat frozen dinners, order in, eat out, eat cereal, ask someone else to cook or what?

When I make something like vegetable soup or spaghetti, I like to make extra and freeze it for such days. If I don’t have anything homemade in the freezer, I’ll either pull out a frozen pizza or make grits, bacon and toast.

I always have left overs in the freezer that I can pull out and reheat quickly or sometimes just order a pizza to be delivered depending on how tired I am.

I normally cook for leftovers but if not available, eggs are always quick, easy and nutritious.

I'm rarely exhausted for any reason but if I am it also means I've have very little appetite anyway. Just making a simple Peanut Butter sandwich is adequate in these situations.

it depends. sometimes i don't feel like solid food is going to work for my stressed out self. so yogurt, smoothies, oatmeal are great for that. microwaved foods that take minutes. if there are leftovers, then we go with that.

My husband and I would have frozen dinners or I would pick-up something at a fast food or casual restaurant.

Early in the day, I thaw something I have made and frozen.

It doesn't necessarily need to be a long hard day. But, since I live alone, I make things like meat loaf that I will slice and freeze individually. If I've had a day where I don't really want to cook from scratch, I pull out one of these--it cooks in a small skillet with a lid in about 5 minutes. I usually have leftover rice (I make it once a week), and I can pair that with it plus something for a salad, and I'm set--takes less than 10 minutes--start to finish.
