Would you buy replica/fake brands?
Closed

Isn't it great when you go on holiday and see all those cheap versions of expensive brands.
It brings back memories of when I was a child and had fake Adidas trainers, the ones with four stripes.
Have bought leather goods but aware that fake medicinal products and cigarettes are rife.

It would depend upon the price, but I would never pay the inflated prices of "labelled" items anyway.

No. I did once buy a 'fake' Kipling bag by mistake on Amazon. Was utterly my own fault. It didn't say 'Kipling' so can't be called fake Kipling legally but it looked exactly the same as a Kipling bag, including the round circle on the side but instead of the word 'Kipling' in the circle it said 'sporty'. I didn't realize this. You'd really have to look hard to see the change in words. Needless to say, it didn't last long. Kipling bags last a life time. I still have one from 1996 in perfect condition yet used a lot. This 'fake' one had the zipper break off without six months.

I can say with absolute certainty that I’ve never bought fake branded goods. That’s not because I’m sure I could sniff out a fake. It’s because I never buy branded goods. As a founder member of SA (Skinflints Anonymous – annual subscription £0.00), I object to being charged a premium solely for a label. :-)
