A busy moving weekend
Closed

I have not been on much for the past couple of days ,we are getting everything ready for mums big move which will be saturday ,we went to choose a room earlier this week and could not decided between two ,so mum is going to choose herself on saturday ,i want her to have room 44 which is a garden view ,my sister thinks room 31 is better as its a street view and mum can watch the people go by .Most of this week has been spent with me sat at my sewing machine labelling her clothes and blankets,I have just run out of labels after doing 80 items ,so will have to wait till the rest arrive ,she is moving in on saturday morning ,and when i told one of mums carers today she burst into tears ,she has cared for my mum for 2 years and i was sad to see her so upset ,but i did tell her she was welcome to go and visit mum if she wanted which she said she will ,which is lovely .After saturday i think i will get my life back and be able to relax knowing mum will not be on her own

I feel for you and your mum. My mum is 94 and has dementia, she still lives with my dad, 92, she absolutely won’t move from their bungalow, although I wish they would, then i wouldn’t worry so much about them if they moved to a warden controlled apartment.
Never mind, I’m sure all will be good for your mum and of course you.

Great news Rose, it is the best choice for all concerned and your mother will have the company of others in a similar position if she chooses to avail of it.
