Is Australian Red Cross right?

The Australian Red Cross has faced considerable criticism after it was reported the charity would give only $30 million to bushfire-affected victims from over $95 million received in donations.

The Red Cross said it will take years to spend the millions of dollars that were donated as part of the Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.

The fund was established to help people prepare, cope and recover from disasters and emergencies.

The rest of the funds are set to be dispersed for longer term commitments in affected communities.

Are you still donating or considering donating to Australian Red Cross? Will this information make you change your mind?

I think the best is to donate directly to those in need and bypass the charities.

Amy monies raised for a specific cause should be used for this cause only ...if there is surplus funds it should be held back for future Disaster Relief and Recoveries Reply
