Sorry not sorry

Today morning at -3 C I went outside to empty my indoor trash bin into the outdoor wheelie bin which is in my back garden. Decided to take some pictures too and my neighbor's cat Chocolate Buttons was there, constantly following me around and crying like no tomorrow. He's a ragdoll but at that moment he was more like a popsicle. I decided to just open the neighbor's front door and chuck him in but the door was locked. I looked into those big blue eyes, saw that it was 9 AM and I thought.. 'oh well..' so I rang the doorbell.

My neighbor Pete opened the door in his bathrobe and I said: sorry for ringing your doorbell but your cat is a popsicle. Cat had already ran inside. He said: next time just send me a message instead of ringing the bell. Helen (his wife) was still asleep. I said ok but your cat was freezing and I don't want him to freeze to death. He thought for a moment, then said: 'I forgot about him.' He started to close the door but then opened it again and said: 'actually, he woke me up at 4 AM, so I'm not sorry he's cold. He deserves it.' And he closed the door.

Oh well.. I did say sorry for ringing the bell but actually I wasn't sorry at all. I'm glad I did, for the cat. Here's a picture of Chocolate Buttons I took last summer.
