Deer in the fields

Now that Spring is coming to an end, and Summer nearly here, there is a large increase in viewing of deer in our farm fields.

The one field has winter wheat and the other barley , with cabbages on the other, and the deer are having a field day (sorry for the pun !)

The fields on the other side of the road have scarecrows and shot sounding machines to try and keep them off .

Have you ever had trouble from game or other animals eating your crops or fruit ?

They are better off in a field than on the road, hitting cars! Reply

Although the road I live in is surrounded by farmland, it's not directly next to my property, so the only wild animals I see in the garden are the occasional fox, badger or pheasant. They don't do any damage, apart from the badger breaking the bottom of a fence panel. Reply
