I've never coloured mine, but you should go more towards an ash blonde each time until it is nearer your grey then go through the grey spectrum of colours. I have a friend who is grey but always dyed blonde, now she dies her hair a silver colour which is more natural for her age.

I assume you are already grey going by your topic title, if thats the case you could just leat it grown out, which is natural, but when I was having a perm, I had dyed my hair the week before and they said they would have to strip the colour before perming, so I know it can be stripped out, phone a hairdressers and just ask, will only cost you the phonecall, at least then you would know one way or the other

You do not say what your natural colour is? I would talk to your hairdresser. It will depend on what you use at present to be blond. Maybe try toning down your blonde and slowly going back to natural colour. Then you can see how the grey hair is growing. If you are one of the lucky ones you will then be able to let your hair fade down , until it is grey.

Ah, this is what comes of defying Nature, she's a mean mother and catches up with you eventually. When friends have done this they have let enough of their hair grow back to get an idea of colour and then dye it as close as can be with a semi-permanent dye so that it gradually fades. I haven't reached that point yet as my grey is all over the place. I so envy those women who get a decent spread of grey, mine looks like someone dropped gobs of paint on my head, so I'm holding out a few more years at least.

Whats your natural colour? Maybe dye it a similar colour and then wait for your natural hair colour to come through?

my mum put a colour on that was close to her own hair, let it grow for about a month, then had temporary highlights put in
