Hannah Glasse and her Yorkshire Puddings

Today's Google doodle is about Hannah Glasse, the woman who invented Yorkshire puddings. The London-born cookery writer is best remembered for her book "The Art of Cookery made Plain and Easy" published in 1747, which became the reference for all recipes in the 18th century. Her book has the first ever recorded recipe for a Yorkshire pudding (now the favourite part of a Sunday roast!), as well as the first recipes in English for an Indian-style curry. And that is not all as it is also the first cookbook to list jelly as an ingredient in a trifle! Let's celebrate her 310th birthday by eating Yorkshire puddings!
