Does anyone remember Izal toilet paper, can you still but it?

Don't ask how this poped into my head. I remember this from school days. You could trace with this. I don't use it now, does it still exsist. Will have to look and see in supermarket. Unless you tell me first of course!

Oh God the memories!! I can remember sitting on the loo rubbing this awful stuff between my hands in the hope that by the time I needed it it would be as soft as thistledown.... some hope no amount of rubbing could change it from what it was SANDPAPER! If it does still exist I hope its only in a museum although you're right it did make very good tracing paper!!

Yes, I remember Izal - I had completely forgotten about it until I read your topic! It was absolutely horrible stuff and totally ineffective as toilet paper. I haven't seen it for years and wouldn't be surprised if it was illegal to use it in school toilets now on humanitarian grounds. There are probably public toilets somewhere in the world where it can still be found but I hope I am never unfortunate enough to have to use one of them. x

I remember using it for tracing things - it wasn't very 'effective' as toilet paper as far as I can recall. Funny to think it is still being sold as such.

I remember it. It was awful stuff and i think it would be classed as child abuse if they had it in schools today!!!!!!!!

I don't normally wear foundation but when I do I use mineral foundation as it gives a matte effect and is easier to blend in than liquid, especially as I'm paler than the shades usually go!

Yes I remember Izal! I think it can still be bought, I think I have seen it in Sainsbury's, although that could be a figment of my imagination!

Yes, you can still get it! I saw some in ASDA the other day, and couldn't believe my eyes!! Why the heck anyone would choose to use this when the softer options are available really puzzles me, unless it's an allergy thing, or they are sadists and buying for the Mother in Law!
I certainly remember using it for tracing paper, but using it on one's nether regions was torture!! And it wasn't very absorbent either! Horrible stuff!
