The only issue is that it now appears that the tv licensing fee is going to be used for things other than the BBC initiatives and that the government is earmarking it for other programming costs etc so even if the BBC started using paid advertisers and no longer needed the tv licensing fee I think that the government would still charge it, so it may not be that simple anymore.
I don't agree with the charge and thinks its just a revenue making with the current situation of paid tv subscriptions being so high and people not only using the base channels that used to be available when the fee was initially introduced.
Yes i do but then i dont see why we have to pay licences anyway if you subscribe to digital tv anyway such as sky etc you are already paying for tv. I find comercial breaks usefull too like you a quick drink or a pee
I hate the ads, hate them, I'd subscribe to BBC to be able to sit through shows without that horrible little kid who wants to take a shit at his friend's house. Anything to get away from those damned lawyers and those insurance ads. You must be mental. Do you realise the ads on the American shows are so long because to pay for them in America they have to run TWENTY MINUTES OF ADS PER HOUR? Twenty minutes! An hour's show reduced to scraps to pay for shows, and that's the way you want to head? You need your head read, mate, once you get onto that slippery slope there is no coming back and it's dirty nappies and kids wanting a shit for the rest of eternitity, through every movie and every comedy and all the Doctor Whos for now until the end of time. No thank you, when they start cutting into scenes to sell the tampons I really get pissed off.
