I too really enjoyed the stews and the hotpots my Mother used to make. She often made the hotpots with bacon instead of chops and they were just as delicious as when she used chops. I try to replicate her recipes but they never really seem to taste the same even thugh my family really enjoy them. I suppose really our taste buds alter as we get older and things just do not really ever taste the same. I also remember Mums pastries when she used to bake tarts and pies or even the pastry she used to put on her potato pies it just used to melt in your mouth. My husbands says he prefers my pastry to Mums but I don't. I think hers were really delicious.
When I was a teenager I used to avidly write in my diary every single night cataloguing the simple tiny events that had happened in my life that day eg who I fancied, what I had got in trouble for, how I hated my parents etc etc. I no longer actually keep a diary for journalling in, but I do have a diary to keep track of all appointments I have, what days the kids have gym and after school events and so on. My husband still keeps a diary for writing in but as an adult and a MAN - LOL, he does NOT write about his feelings etc in it. He simply enters events, like if we have gone away for the day, if he has been to a football match and so on. I know a lot of adults make scrapbooks as a hobby which is a type of journalling but I am interested in whether any of you actually still write your personal thoughts etc down in a daily diary.
I have tried to keep an actual diary before but sitting at the desk to write it sort of fell ourt of favour when I ended up on Toluna. It has been the story since I was younger. I can seem to succeed in recording August, but any other month just doesn't work. I have, though, for the past three years kept a very consise and accurate food diary with a few breaks when I throught it best to move on from it. I occasionally note my mood and what I did during the day as well, but not generally any feelings unless something awful happened. I love reading back on the past records to see how I have changed, thugh, and that is the main reason I have kept up with the food diary.
i just cant seem to find a pillow that keeps its shape, they start out all fluffy an bouncy, only to become flat and flimsy within a couple of weeks. someone said to try a memory foam pillow, but do they work? the matresses have had me facinated for ages but they are so expensive. so if anyone has an opinion on either the pillows or matresses (good or bad) or even other pillows or matresses (i just want to buy a decent bed set, that helps me get to sleep, not keeps me up) thanks guys.
