I have been lucky enough to travel to a couple of countries and wondered if you could tell me your favourite place and why. I have five weeks off at the end of the year and not sure where to go to. thanks terry
I've just noticed loads of new country sites have been added including China, Peru, Mexico, Singapore, Argentina & Brazil, no wonder it's going mega slow.
My daughter has just returned from ten days in Florida, the flight was delayed for over three hours as they had terrible lightning storms. When thet finally took off she had a panic attack as the plane was suffering from turbulance and she could see the ightning. Now she is home she has been sick about six times and looks terrible, a bug, turbulance or jet lag? My middle daughter went to Cyprus two summers ago she ended up in hospital for two days with food poisoning. My eldest sister always comes back from some far flung region with some bug or other. Is it a good job I don't like holidays and have never fllown or wanted to.
My ideal holiday is one with lots of nightlife, and long white clean beaches that you can sunbathe and relax with a cocktail in your hand. I like to have an exciting and vibrant holiday with lots of colour, and with lots of people! I also require lots of sun and a hotel with a large swimming pool that you could dip your feet into, or go for a relaxing swim to wash away the heat.
My ideal holiday would be going to the Caribbean, the beaches and atmosphere look amazing and the people sound very friendly.
I remember Paddington bear enjoying his marmalade sandwiches in the books and always thought I was copying him every time I had marmalade. I have been told recently that now Paddington has apparently changed his habits and now promotes marmite instead. I cannot see what was wrong with leaving him as I remember him and him eating Marmite does just not feel the same to me. I would have thought that he might have been a good promotion tool for something like Euro star as he arrived on a train from abroad when he was found on Paddington station.
Do you remember all those retro sweeties? You can't buy a lot of them now - things like gobstoppers, cremola foam, penny chews, aniseed balls, etc.
When I was little I used to get sweets from a sweetie shop that kept them all in jars behind the counter. My favourites were bonbons and parma violets.
I also used to love getting a 10p mix with my pocket money, because you never knew for sure exacltly what you were going to get, so it was always a bit of a surprise! I was always hoping for the flying sacuers!
What were your favourite retro sweeties when you were growing up and can you get them now ?
I'd love to go to New Zealand. I know it is a small world now and it doesn't really take that long to get there, but if I went I would like to stay for about two months. I know I'll have to wait until I retire to do this! I would love to see the scenery and as I love to go walking I would like to do some of the famous long walks there. How about you? It doesn't need to be a country - why you loke a particular resort will do!
