In my opinion, organic food is over priced and es the retailers are cashing in on this food trend. Look at a bag of onion in your local supermarket (probably 50p for 6-8). Now check the organic equivalent. In our local supermarket they are priced at double this. A friend of mine is a local farmer and sells his produce to a local supermarket, he has told me he does not get much more money for supplying totally organic food and yet the supermarkets mark up the price to nearly double.
Considering that a law suit was taken out in America against Dannon claiming that its probiotic yogurts were just ordinary yogurts being sold at highly inflated prices to aid profit what are your views on the probiotic yogurts as a whole? Do you think they have added health benefits as claimed or are they just plain ol yogurts?
As a female I know of the health benefits of probiotics/live microcultures but feel that you can achieve the same results with ordinary organic yogurt at a lesser price. Mind you my kids adore the mini bottles and at least it a way to get them to eat/drink it.
I'll drink a cup of tea occasionally. On an average day, none, as I'm not really a tea drinker, but my Husband more than makes up for me. He probably drinks between 15 - 20 cups every day. I don't know how he manages to fit any work in between the making and drinking of the tea and the subsequent necessary trips to the loo! :) How about you?
