Antisa Khvichava was born in 1880, date established from documents at the country's civil registration agency - authenticity of the civil registration documents has yet to be verified.
Khvichava reportedly lives with her son - one of two surviving children - and grandchildren and great-grandchildren in the remote village of Sachino, deep in the Caucasus Mountains, 170 miles from Georgia's capital Tbilisi.
The Caucasus historically has reputation for longevity, but its turbulent history and remoteness have made claims difficult to verify.
Gia Vashadze, an official at Georgia's Civil Registry Agency, told TV station that his agency hope to get Khvichava into the Guinness Book of World Records.
Vashadze said documents, including Khvichava's Soviet-era passport registration, which shows her date of birth, suggested that Khvichava was indeed the oldest person on the planet.
The world's oldest living person on record is Japan's 114-year-old Kama Chinen.
How long would you like to live - 130 years seems bit long to coco and ghosty3
i think it pretty big and i think the goverment should do small things about it not big DRASTIC ACTIONS as i think that will cause evern more problems...
For the last 3 months my friend has not been her normal bubbly, happy self at all. She crys for hours and doesn't know why which just makes her confused and angry. The tiniest thing upsets her and she just doesn't enjoy things anymore. She has been prescribed anti-depressants but doesn't want to take them. Anyone got any suggestions on anything I can do to help or any other way besides medication? She also won't go and see a councillor.
Just being wondering because, this question can apply to anything really.
I've recently visited ALDI where I find their stuff quite good including fresh veg. When I got to the till the Cashier was so fast it was like Superwoman whizzing through the items into my trolley without giving me much time to pack.
I have boycotted TESCO because the Cashier's there were ultra slow. At times I was left waiting for them to scan my items through because they were too busy chatting and then working like snails.
I've been trying to drink the recommended 8 glasses a day lately and although seeing a definate improvment with my skin and such i'm finding it hard to drink this much water! How much do you drink and do you find it easy? Do you think it's necessary to consume this much a day?
I actually got on very well with my partners sisters and okish with his mum and my partner gets on well with some of my family and well with my dad but my mum makes it clear she isnt keen on him by little remarks she makes when we are there and although he hasnt seemed to notice it does make me feel really awkward
My 14 year old daughter went out to the cinema last night with her friends and my mobile charger packed in so decided to go and hunt hers down (not an easy task in a teenagers room) Hunted high and low and tidied up a bit as I went along and came across a box of durex, in her school bag, with the three durex still in the box. Well you can imagine how shocked I was and what I was thinking, and wondering how to approach this with my baby girl!!!!! Anyway when she got home and said hi, are you OK, I said no and told her what I had found. Straight away she informed me that they had all been given them in her sex education class in school. I dont doubt this as she was too quick to answer and would not have thought of something that quick off the top of her head (belive me she is not that clever!!) So what are the schools doing encouraging 14 year olds to use condoms without consent, after all I am only her parent. I understand that they have to teach teens etc about this and the risk of pregnancy but surely there is a more suitable way of doing this than handing out free condoms for them to try. I have a meeting with the school on Friday and will be raising my concerns about this. What are your thoughts on this matter, are you as appauled as I am?
