I am 43 (so Hollyoaks means nought!). For me, it has to be the great, one-off "Hilda Ogden", and of course, her on screen hubby "Stan". What a fantastic pairing... full of grit, humour and much poignancy. A famous scene I remember is when they were on holiday (abroad I think, which was quite something in their day!) and he asked her about the scent she was wearing. She replied "Woman" Stan, all woman!" .... I never thought Hilda Ogden could border on the erotic ... it really was quite fab, and hilarious too. I also remember her for her spats with the omnipitant Ena Sharples (corrr! there was a woman to be reckoned with... I would've thought twice!), and her kindness to Kevin Webster who was their lodger and affectionately referred to her as "Mrs O" at least ten times per episode. I also have to pay homage to "Benny" from Crossroads. What an adorable, if some what intellectually challenged character... "I likes you Miss Diane....". I shall never forget him. And "Amy Turtle" who could only be described very loosely as an actress ... bless her, how did she ever get herself on set is one of TV's great mysteries. Who is your most memorable soap star, and why? I suspect that there will be many from good old Coronation Street.... thanks folks and look forward to your comments...x
Men all have the same problem, lust and sex! They want to be the dirtiest perverts out there, and when their wives or partners can't be that freak, they go sleep with sluts! When a man cheats the first time, depending on how much you love them or how much he tries to show he's really sorry, there might be a chance to work it out! What do you think!
Im taking my 6 year old Lottie to see the new tim burtons alice in wonderland, and neither I nor she can wait!!! We both love the original, and she loves tim burtons stuff as so do i. I just wandered if anyone had been to see it yet, and is it any good?? I have heard mixed views on it, some saying it was awsome, and some saying how bad it was and very 'off the story' but i know its going to be different to the original and am keeping an open mind. whats your say?
it is a question that has plagued my mind for years now! why does it have this name? who is this dick character? i understand why it would be called 'spotted' because of the sultanas but my theory stops there. Any logical explainations out there?!
My dream is to become a writer. My favourite writers are Liz Jones and Mimi Spencer who both write for the Mail on Sunday's supplement magazine, You. I would like to live it up with a similar life style to Sex and the City's character Carrie Bradshaw. - What is your dream (no matter how big or small - any topic) :)
I know even adverts can make me cry, but my last 'sobbing at the TV' moment was Last week, when I watched a Docu on BBC 4 about Zimbabwe's Children. It was a long one, but I couldnt tear myself away from it! These poor kids just wanted an education and were trying against the odds to get one. I cried when the school administrator had to chase 90% of the kids away for not paying their $2 school fees. The kids knew it was going to happen sooner or later but I just knew that they had this hidden hope that they would be allowed to stay. Very sad, and moved me to donate to the people who made the documentary, which was promised to help the kids featured directly.
If you had a remote control that enabled you to fast forward patches of your life, would you use it? The only snag would be that you couldn't get any of the time back at a later date, there is no rewind button on your gadgety gismo thingummyjig!! So,would you do it? Would you risk that by fast forwarding that Chemistry exam, you might also fast forward the moment when you stepped out of the examination building and picked up the winning lottery ticket? Or would you take a chance that by fast forwarding through your unpleasant stay in hospital, the new hunky doctor or gorgeous nurse might ask you out to dinner and turn out to be the person of your dreams? Or would you risk missing any single second of those wonderful moments that the kids, friends, relatives etc in our lives give us? Well, would you do it? There are days when I think it would be fantastic,to zoom through some of the crappier stuff, but when all is said and done,I for one just couldn't take the risk, that I might have missed something wonderful!!
if you love two soaps and the times clash what would you watch and which one would you leave for later as repeat to watch this is between eastenders and coronation street from my point of view i think i would stick with eastenders with the amount of turns and twist going on
