I contacted Toluna regarding my points not being updated and recieved this message back, thought it might be helpful information for some of you all the best JacobDawson
Unfortunately you have not been receiving your points for this because we have had to start crediting all the opinions together, around once every month. We now have to scan the opinions in order to ensure members aren't creating opinions and copying and pasting their ideas. I apologise for this but I can assure you that each opinion is credited once a month and you should receive your points soon. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us, have a nice day.
Ah, the same message that Lisajb57 got earlier today. Seems as if Toluna are copying and pasting their message about trying to stamp out copying and pasting... :-)
I have checked my Toluna account and I have already ticked the box requesting that my real name should NOT appear on my public profile - yet it appears on Google!
Unfortunately for me I have also used my professional name which I now know if someone searches me on Google for legitimate work purposes, they will also be able to read my opinions about every topic under the sun. This could put some people off employing me in the future particularly as I've discussed my health problems.
I have tried to contact Toluna to complain and ask them to address my concerns immediately but (strangely) their automated email system will not accept my email!
For your information, Toluna's Privacy Policy includes the following paragraph: "Toluna makes a commitment to each participant that it will ensure the utmost confidentiality and therefore maintain the anonymity of each participant online. Indeed, under no pretext whatsoever will Toluna divulge personal information relating to individual participants (such as their e-mail address, postal address, level of income, marital status etc) to any third party in any way, shape or form without the participant's explicit consent."
Without doubt, they HAVE divulged personal information to a third party without my explicit consent and have therefore broken their promise and abused their position.
I think this is actually exceedingly serious and now I know that this issue has already been raised some time ago by other members, feel I must take professional advice about this. Protecting personal information is more important than ever these days and none of us should take this lightly, especially if your real name is accompanied by other personal information expressed in opinions and published on Google. Be careful what you write people!
well i cant speak personally, as im not over 50, but i think that each person is entitled to their own opinion, my mother inlaw is in her 60's, and looks really glamorous, with a little make up on, she doesnt go over the top, just a little light makeup, and she doesnt look anything like her age,i hope when im her age, i look as good as she does.with or with out makeup. so i dont agree with you shelia, im sorry, if a little makeup makes a lady feel confident, and attractive, why shouldnt she wear it,no matter what age she is,
