Whether that's clothes, artwork, home furnishings etc, can look pretty funky. I love the style of the 50's and 60's. I also like the fahions of the 70's, but wince when i think of the awful stiff I used to wear during the 80's. Such a styless period in time!
Retro is great, be it recent retro like the 80’s, or more antique retro like Victorian era stuff. Whatever era it is, I love the more simplistic nature of previous decades; life seemed to be so much easier back then. I miss watching movies on VHS and listening to music on cassettes, I miss 4 channel TV that was packed with decent programming and I do love 80’s fashion, it wasn’t as bad as people make out and was certainly better than the 70’s. We are redecoration, slowly, and hope to include a lot of Victorian features and styles, mixed with retro futuristic ‘steampunk’ accessories.
I'm a huge fan of the 50's and 60's, but I think I'm in love with the romanticized version portrayed on screen or discussed by actors and actresses of that time. I think that I would have to be of a certain socio economic class to really enjoy that time period.
I would go back and live in the sixties , The days of flower power , acid and good fun , but as with every decade comes the same problems that invade peoples lives so would prefer to stay where I am I think !! but I would like to go back wherelife was not so materialised . And the little things counted . Not like today where kids expect sweets and toys all the time and do not appriciate these things . God I feel really old now ! .
