In this case however the word ‘junkie’ is used to express a contradicting notion of the usual connotation of the word. Referring to oneself as a JESUS JUNKIE refers to the joy of knowing our Maker, God and Most High Lord and saviour as a ‘drug’ that will never and can never give ‘a chasing the dragon effect’. Once you experience it, there is no other high that can possibly top that. So why be addicted to a physical substance that provides temporary satisfaction when you can opt to something greater, priceless, and which no drug dealer on earth can guarantee you a greater high from.
