this was such a sad film. the use of the girl in the little red coat when the rest of the film was in black and white was really poignant. i think it is very important to remember pieces of history like this and these days the only way of bringing things to the attention of the public is through film. its great to be able to look back and see that while all the horrific events of the second world war were taking place that there were little moments of extreme charity if you like and the film documents this beautifully. especially after all hes when schindler breaks down at the end because he could have saved more jews. this was a fanatstic film that brought the story of shindler to life far better than i felt the book did.
The story follows the life of low I.Q. Forrest Gump and his meeting with the love of his life Jenny. The film chronicles his accidental experiences with some of the most important people and events in America from the late 1950's through the 1970's including a meeting with Elvis Presley, JFK, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, fighting in Vietnam, etc. The problem is, he's too stupid to realize the significance of his actions. Forrest becomes representative of the baby boomer generation having walked through life blindly.
This is a good movie the first time you watch it. After that it is too much, for starters it goes to long to watch it a second time.
I was given it as a teenager from one of my grandparents when it first came out. I had already seen it and wasn't that worried about watching it again. However my little brother and all the younger children played it all the time.
Because of this it was one of my most hated films & I literally had to leave the room when it was on. I could not stand the repetition of it.
Whenever I think about it I think it was a good movie, but I would never like to see it again.
