I think it would be very hard to decide between these two films. both films are big epics. i would recommend both of these films to anyone i think they are both fantastic films. Both are about major disasters that have happened. They both run a love story which draws your more into the film. I have cried at both these films and own both ofthem in my dvd collection. my daughter would tell you that titanic is her favourite film of all time but she has yet to watch pearl harbour. if i really had to pick a favourite though it would be pearl harbour but not cause it is the better film simply because Ben affleck is in it and i think he is yummy. I don't think leanorndo di capri has much sex appeal. now theres another opinion topic to start!
Unlike most of the war movies of our time, Black Hawk Down sticks to the facts about what happened in Mogadishu and doesn't romanticize the story. To support this observation, the viewer will notice that there is not really one main character. This shows that the film focuses more on what happened in Somalia instead of on the characters personality and/or struggles. Another important aspect of the film that makes it so great is the cinematography. Not only was the setting of the film accurate to the real thing, but the way that the movie was filmed is great because it seems like someone is running along the battle scene getting everything on tape. In addition, the film contains small aspects that one may not notice that are important to the situation in Mogadishu. For instance, the bullet shells that fell from the firing helicopter fell into one of the soldiers' vests, and he scrambled to get it out because of how hot it was. This small detail makes the movie that much more realistic. To conclude, Black Hawk Down is a great movie that is both an eye opener that sticks to the facts as well as a quality film. I recommend this movie to any war-film fan, as well as anyone that likes watching movies in general.
Now this is a great little film which i have found not many people to know about. It basically follows a group of sisters who have a seemingly nice life but the film is quite dark and you may guess from the title what happens.
Kirsten Dunst is perfect in her role and although the film is quite depressing she manages to make it quite light at times. I think the story matter is hard going but teh film is so beautiful and amazing that i loved it although i found it upsetting most of the way through.
The characters and story are amazing so giver it a go.
