Such a lot to choose from. John Wayne? Charlie Chaplin? Dustin Hoffman? Clint Eastwood? Paul Newman? Robert Redford? The list could go on forever and still you would miss the likes of Clark Gable, Humprhey Bogart, Cary Grant. It is a difficult choice even if you don't include modern screen greats such as Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt etc.
For me however there can only be one name in the frame and that is Jack Lemmon. He always gave a sense of grace to the roles he played and also the uncanny ability to make it look like he had no idea what the next word would be and of course he had to have known. He was a man of great talent and I had the pleasure of seeing him on the stage in the West End and it is a memory that will stay with me for ever.
I love most comedies. My favourites are 40 year old virgin, superbad, meet the parents,American Pie,The Wedding Singer,Mr Woodcock,Road Trip. My favourite actors have to be Adam Sandler,Ben Stiller,Steve Carrell and Will Ferell.
American Pie were classic and are hilarious and revisit them once in a while. Really enjoyed Something About Mary. Bad Santa is a black comedy and I really enjoyed that too, after I got over the shock of the story line and watched it for a second time. If you love black humour with a real kick then you should see this. There are so many romantic comedies now that I think it is really hard to find one or two that stick with you. I really enjoyed Sweetest Thing as well but for different reasons. So many films so little finger time.
