Not possfor me to put them in any order, or even to be completely sure that the folloing are actually my definitive top ten...but i would probably at this moment, say; Blues Brothers, Quadrophenia,Before Sunrise, Before Sunset,Beautiful Thing,The Green Mile,Truly Madly Deeply,Amelie,When Harry Met Sally,Its A Wonderful Life. But as i said, it is impossible to narrow down any list, whether that be films, songs, artistes, books, to just ten favourites..such fun but sooo hard to choose!
Performances wise, Pegg just ain't up to his Hot Fuzz standard, Newton manages to be little more than attractive eye candy and David Walliams makes his standard cameo appearance in a bakers shop.
There's quite a lively soundtrack going on and it's an amiable enough ride to the end. Plus anything I say isn't really going to make much difference because the film's been showing for well over a month now and by the looks of it is still really continuing to rake it in. The British really like to flock out to have a laugh at one of their homegrown comedies, but seem to overlook all the flaws with them.
Just seen this comedy at a preview screening - and I was pretty impressed. What sounded like a typical rom-com turned out to be a british comedy with a romantic sub-plot.
Simon Pegg sets out to train for & complete a marathon in just a few weeks to impress his ex-fiancee (and mother of his son) Thandie Newton who he ran out on just before their wedding ceremony. And she was pregnant at the time. What starts out as a desperate gesture turns into a life changing opportunity.
An excellent supporting cast, including the hilarious yet dead-pan Dylan Moran, help lift this simple story from a rom-com to a com-rom.
