I positively agree that this poll is of major importance to the world today. Although in this case I believe this to be true, there are were times when they seem to be pointless. While today it seems that nearly everyone would argue that this is good and bad, in society, there is usually a right or wrong that is looked up on as the correct opinion, and so for everyone to agree of to 'love' this annoys me. I believe that one person's opinion really does count but it is always biased by experience, just as mine is here.
Like many of Fellini's work, this is a true classic. We are brought into the world of a paparazzi photographer in the 1960s, who is drawn into the world of the models and intellectuals of the time. This film was highly innovative for its time, and the acting is truly marvellous (Anita Ekberg is truly beguiling as the leading lady). This film explores the world of celebrity (a theme certainly relevant in the modern world today), as well as drawing you into the world of the 60s intellectuals. The cinematography is legendary, creating iconographic images like that of the paparazzi man and Ekberg frolicking at the Trevvi fountain. This film is highly recommended for anybody who appreciates great film-making in all senses of the term.
What a beautiful film. A film straight from my dreams, drifting in and out of logical existence into the land of the dead. Dreamlike, poetic, wise; also sober, down-to-earth.
Delivers home-truths too: connecting with another human being gives one hope. Connections are possible across age, country, culture gaps. The images are gorgeous, the slowness fits. You have to sit on your impatience now and then. But thats entirely worth it.
Also, I loved listening to the Greek language. But that is because I love Greece.
It is a film that reminds me of Antonioni's L'Avventura and La Notte; they bring you into a trance where you can tell the beauty of this universe.
